Women and Cancer: Strategies to Improve Well-Being

Workshop Description
Dr. Coons will discuss psychosocial assessment and treatment for women across the life span with early and advanced cancer. Topics include: enhancing resilience and well-being; preparing for invasive procedures; treating depression and anxiety; improving body image and sexual health; strategies to deal with chemo brain; reducing menopausal symptoms; coping with fears of recurrence; single women with cancer; talking with children and other family about cancer; and end of life issues. Case discussions will focus on diverse women with cancer. Useful patient and clinical resources will be provided.
