Elizabeth KrauseElizabeth D. Krause, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who specializes in women’s mental health. She completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Duke University where she also received a graduate certificate in Women’s Studies. Following her doctoral studies, Dr. Krause won a National Research Service Award Independent Postdoctoral Fellowship from the National Institute of Mental Health to study risk and resiliency factors associated with women’s mental health following traumatic events. Her postdoctoral fellowship was completed at Georgetown University Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, where she was also involved in the development of low-cost, accessible psychotherapies administered through community and primary care settings. She continues to collaborate with the Georgetown University Department of Psychiatry as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. In addition, Dr. Krause is a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania where she teaches courses on gender and psychopathology, psychological trauma, and clinical research methods.

Dr. Krause has extensive clinical experience working with women across the life span in community and medical settings. Her areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety, relationships problems, disordered eating, body image disturbance, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), perinatal and post-partum mood disorders, and pregnancy loss. In her psychotherapy practice, Dr. Krause uses evidence-based interventions that have been shown to effectively improve women’s mental health. She is committed to working collaboratively with patients during their acute stages of distress, and to empowering them to be able to maintain wellness following therapy.
